Singapore: Islands in the Stream

Referred to as the little red dot, the Nation of Singapore is steeped in both Asiatic as well as western culture. That is what makes this island what it is and what it means to so many visitors and residents that call Singapore paradise and home respectively. Singapore is a bustling city that is the quintessential definition and example of what it takes to be considered such a spot on the map. With a world-class living environment and a high-rise speckled downtown area Singapore is a sight for sore eyes and open-minds.

The variety of ethnicities and cultural melting’s having combined to create a wonderful experience all on the very edge of Asia! Location has always been a major selling point regardless of the region of the world in which that spot is situated. Singapore is no different with an explosion of excitement and a boatload full of mystery and exotic while ancient air to this little red dot. You will find that this island location set in the deepest blue/green waters of the Pacific Ocean will be the place that you long to return to the very minute you return home. Some say the impact that Singapore has on their very soul calls for them to return again and again.

Singapore was once a colony in the Crown Jewels of England. The queen of England knew all to well the importance of having a safe-spot in this part of the world for obvious reasons. One of those reasons was/is the sheer beauty of this little red dot in the sea. The queen of England has never been referred to as anything but a great leader and this was demonstrated in the 18th century when Singapore was granted her independence and became her own sovereign authority. This was not a bloody coup or the deathly tossing out of the dreaded and despised foreigners. No this was anything like that at all. The English simply handed the country back and went home.

What is simply amazing in relation to populations and Singapore is that this once severely people-challenged island nation was once a nation of around 150! It is now a thriving bustling country independent in both heart and reality and boasting a solid population of 350,000. Now that is what is referred to n the sociological world as a human growth explosion. The Singapore island nation was not handed a country and left to fend for itself. This is not how the country of England and the Crown do things. The ruling class in Singapore is still the Royal family. What this means is that the more things change the more they stay the same and this is very true in this little red dot of a nation. If you plan on visiting Singapore than make certain that you plan early and get you passport as the lines to get into this country are quite long. Enjoy your time in this wonderful location.
